
Folks have been savoring these mouth-watering treats for over 15 years. Made from wheat gluten, the protein part of wheat, our Wheat Roast and other wheat products are great meat substitutes that even non-vegetarians will enjoy.
We mix the gluten and peanut butter together to produce Wheat Roast, a fully cooked, protein rich, ready to eat meat alternative. Wheat Roast is thirty percent protein by weight, low fat and cholesterol free. It is also a versatile cooking ingredient and can be sliced, cubed, chipped and ground much like beef and used as a meat substitute in a wide variety of recipes.
We took our Wheat Roast, added traditional spices and sauces and produced our Veg-itas Vegetarian Fajitas and Texas Style Vegetarian BBQ. These products provide our customers with vegetarian and vegan alternatives to traditional southwestern style cooking. Our Veg-itas won the Austin Chronicle “Best Vegetarian Fare for Non-Vegetarians” award.
